Our trees are decorated. This is our first year to use artificial trees, and I think I'm going to love them. No wrapping lights around the trees or crawling on the floor to water them.
I don't do a Christmas theme. Every year, our Christmas décor theme is Gloria In Excess.
We've collected ornaments for years, with no thought of a theme, and all of those ornaments go on our trees.
As you can see, it's a real hodgepodge.
When I posted our Christmas mantel (here), I told you I was trying to use up my huge stash of gold ribbon. I've added gold ribbon to everything that doesn't move. I may succeed in using of all of it.
You may have noticed, in most of these photos I hadn't added any gold ribbon to the vases on the hearth. When I looked at these photos, I realized I had neglected a place I could use more gold ribbon, so I added it before taking the previous photo of the hearth.
Thank you for coming to see the progress of our Christmas décor. There's a lot left to do. I'll be tweaking until Christmas Eve, and then it's time to take it all down. But, I do love Christmas décor.

Just gorgeous! And I agree about artificial trees -- I do not miss watering them! I think I will adopt your "Gloria in Excess" theme -- works for me!
ReplyDeleteOh my word, I love, love, love seeing all of your trees and Christmas decor. It is always amazing. I love that gold ribbon too.
ReplyDeleteYour trees are beautiful Laurie. We use our ornaments we've collected over the years, maybe a new one everyone and then but no theme. Sometimes mores white, others red and green. Beautiful inspiration.
ReplyDeleteHappy December.......
I share your obsession with collecting and using Christmas ornaments. I love your excess. I tell my family that what I want for my next birthday is a decorating fairy to sit on my shoulder and just tell me when to quit. I bring all of that stuff out of storage and then it is so hard not to use it SOMEWHERE. Perhaps we need to begin a 12 step program for those of us who decorate to excess. Hi, I'm Sharon and I decorate excessively.
ReplyDeleteYour trees are just glorious, Laurie!
ReplyDeleteBe a sweetie,
Shelia ;)
Wow. Your hodgepodge is beautiful. Thank you for linking up to Monday Social!
ReplyDeleteI love artificial trees. The branches are sturdy and the trees don't shed all over. Yours look beautiful
ReplyDeleteI love your "Gloria in Excess" theme! Exactly how I feel. I'm in a smaller house now than I used to be, but there are Christmas things I want to have around me and it does kind of feel like "excess." Including a non-themed tree. The theme is "Christmas" - and that's ok with me. Have a wonderful, merry, blessed Christmas!
