BETWEEN ST PATRICKS AND EASTER

My grandmother used to tell me to make up my mind, because I couldn't be twixt and between. I didn't really know what twixt meant, but right now I'm twixt and between St. Patrick's décor and Easter décor.

The wearin' o' the green day hasn't arrived yet, so I still have my Tom Clark gnomes on display for St. Patrick's décor.

All of these gnomes were gifts from sister-in-law, Brenda.

They normally reside on our shelves in the family room, but for the Irish holiday, I've put them on the buffet in the family room.

I added some clover leaf ribbon to the candles to give them an Irish look.

Easter is coming early this year, and that's why I'm twixt and between.

Faux Easter food is on display in the kitchen.

This large faux chocolate bunny was a gift from my friend, Audrey. Before she gave it to me, one of her grandchildren unwrapped part of it to eat it. Audrey had to glue the foil back onto the bunny before gifting it to me.

I've explained to my grandchildren that these are not real candy, so hopefully, I won't have to worry about them trying to bite into them.

Are you twixt and between too? And more importantly, what the heck does "twixt" mean?
Thanks for coming by. Have a great weekend.

Lol I don't know what it means either. I would probably try to eat the faux candy too...it looks so real.

Not me, we are all about the bunnies here. I decided to just skip the leprechaun touches this year. Actually I forgot to retrieve the box from storage, so I need to go find it. '-)

I have ONE little leprechaun for St. Pat's, but lots of Easter stuff! I have an Irish shirt on this morning, though!

I haven't found any bunnies or green around yet, hopefully this weekend! Love your tiered Easter display and the gnomes are precious.
Happy weekend……...

Hi,Laurie. It is so funny because I just completed a tablescape that I entitled "A Table Betwixt and Between". I felt the same way you did: I'm between both celebrations; it's such an odd time of year for decorating. Do you do St. Patty's Green or Bunny pastels?! The expression "Betwist and Between" is perfect for this dilemma: it means "in a midway position". That's about where we all are now! I hope next year finds Easter in April again so we can keep things straight! Rosie @ The Magic Hutch

I totally understand your feelings as I have St. Patty's Day in the living room and Easter in the kitchen. I have rearranged my schedule to clear the middle week of March hoping to get back to Blytheville to visit my mom. The months of March and April are booked solid. Our daughter is being married on April 9 and our son is getting married on May 15. Whew! All of my doctor's appointments have been rescheduled around all other events. Colonoscopy and pap smear will just have to wait until after weddings and everything else. A whole year of dental procedures will finish up this week if I am lucky and so it goes when you get older. I think we all just need to slow down a wee bit and enjoy it all as it whizzes past us.

Laurie definitely twixt between Easter and St Patrick's Day plus its day light savings month and spring begins so I'm decorating with birds bunnies, blooms, nests shamrocks and taking so many pics I think my computer is rebelling.Susie
