A SIMPLE VALENTINE TABLE

Valentine Tablescape-Bargain Decorating with Laurie

Our simple Valentine tablescape began with a tablecloth I bought at an estate sale years ago. There are little red and white hearts scattered across the fabric.

Even the edge of the table covering has a heart eyelet ruffle.

The base of each place setting is a red metal charger. I topped it with a white Gibson plate, and a red melamine plate I bought at Target about five years ago.

The flower carts on these vintage glasses (from an estate sale) make me think of a man buying Valentine flowers for his sweetheart.

A few years ago, I bought these red napkins with embroidered white at an estate sale. I topped them with white handkerchiefs, embroidered with the word "Love". When I found these at a going-out-of-business sale, I had no idea how I'd use them, but they were inexpensive enough that I went ahead and bought all they had (six). I enjoy bringing them out during the season of love. I used the key napkin rings (also bought at a going-out-of-business sale) to signify the keys to the heart.

For a centerpiece, I lined up inexpensive miniature mailboxes.

I filled the mailboxes with Valentine signs and

Kings and Queens of Hearts.

I added votive candle holders with the inscription, "Love Warms the Heart".

I hope you enjoyed seeing my simple Valentine table. Thank you for visiting.

What a "sweetheart" of a table that is. I especially like the red heart plates, and the mailboxes. What a cute idea.

As you might guess, simple with touches of whimsy is my favorite kind of table so this one is a real winner for me.
