Some of you may remember that I have a "thing" for Dutch décor. There is no explanation for my love of all things Dutch. I am just charmed by Dutch images.
A shelf in one of my china cabinets is devoted to Dutch treasures I've collected.
A lot of my French Quimperware is displayed in our breakfast nook.
I've added my mother's Dutch fairy tale tea set to the table in the breakfast nook.
This little Dutch girl figurine is playing nicely with a French Quimper cookie tin.
When I see writing on something on a blog, I drive myself crazy trying to read what it says, so I'm sharing the little verse on the Dutch sketch in case you want to read it.
Did you spot my newest Dutch piece? I bought the large planter at a flea market for $6.00. It has some cracks and a lot of crazing on it, but so does almost everything in our house - especially me.
There are different Dutch illustrations around the planter. Yep! Those illustrations just charmed the $6.00 right out of my wallet.
I set the places at the table with souvenir plates from Holland, Michigan.
I'm glad the Dutch can play nicely with the French. Thank you for visiting me.

Your Dutch collection is lovely !
Hi Laurie, your collection is incredible. I love the details and the colors are so beautiful together. Love the dutch shoes. I often find them to paint.
Your setting is beautiful. So nice to catch up with you this week as I have been away from the computer. Taking a step back does one good and now I am ready to get back into the routines of creativity.
Have a wonderful rest of August and end of summer.
Hugs, cm
Hi Laurie,
I'm new to your blog and what a delight it is and your commentary made me laugh. I would have been charmed right out of my six dollars as well! You have some very beautiful pieces of Quimper and how wonderful that you inherited your mother's collection.
Have a great week!
Beautiful blog.....My dear friend Juliana from Holland would love your displays.
Oh I just loved this :) When I was a little girl my aunt had a blue and white Dutch boy and girl salt and pepper shaker that I loved to play with...this reminded me :) So many lovely things here! :)
