In honor of Valentine's season, I am sharing the handmade "love" that hangs on our walls. Most are covered in glass, so I apologize for all of the reflections and glares in these images.
These first two were purchased at estate sales. It's sad to see someone's lovingly stitched work being sold, but I'm glad I can save some of them from the trash.
This is one of the little pieces that I stitched, years and years ago when my eyes were better.
My pillow was a gift from a friend.
A family friend stitched this wedding sampler as a gift when we married. Obviously, I've given up on trying to not share my last name on the blog.
This sweet little hand-drawn piece belonged to my Mother. It was a gift to her from a dear friend.
This is another of my Mother's gifts -- from my niece when she was very young. I have kept it in the basket, just as it was given to my Mother, and I bring it out for Valentine's decor.
You will notice that those are not my initials on this little piece. When one of my granddaughters was very young, she saw this piece at a flea market and decided that "Gigi needs this, because she has a lot of stitched stuff, and she has a lot of hearts." She was too young to read at the time, and she bought it with her own $1.00. It is so special to me, because of the memory of her, at such a young age, thinking about what I like and wanting to gift me with it.
Thanks for stopping in. laurie

Things made by hand and heart is what I call loving stitched pieces, Laurie. You have some nice ones.
Happy Valentine's Day!
Thanks for another fun party.
Love all the stitched hearts, but my favorite is the one your Grand bought...that is such a sweet story!
hugs,
Linda
Love the hand stitched treasures! Thanks for sharing with us at Something To Talk About Link Party!
Laurie, Your "Valentine Love" display your walls is lovely. It is hard to imagine not loving the beautiful work of a mother or a grand mother but the beautiful samplers you found at estate sales is testimony to the lack of interest of the children and grandchildren of way to many people. It is good to know there are people like you to bring these loving works of art home and preserve them in the manner they deserve.
Hi Laurie, hand stitched treasures are so very special. I love all your heart pretties and special keepsakes. Your collection is beautiful.
Hugs, CM
Hand made items are just treasures to love! Adore all of your " love" pieces! Beautiful!
