ELEGANT PUMPKIN TABLESCAPE

Fall Tablescape-Bargain Decorating with Laurie
Can a tablescape featuring pumpkins be used for an elegant dinner?  This pumpkin table was for a dinner I served last year, and I'm posting it again today.  Although, gold is normally my go-to color for Fall, when I got a couple of mercury glass pumpkins on sale, it made me think outside the box about this table.

In addition to the mercury glass pumpkins, I was inspired by my velvet pumpkins made my friend, Susie.

Aren’t they gorgeous?  I elevated them on a mirrored silver plateau that I ordered from an Etsy a couple of years ago.

The mercury glass pumpkins inspired me to use my square silver-colored chargers that I bought at Tuesday Morning about three years ago.

I got the etched glass bowls at an estate sale a couple of years ago. I previously posted this oh-so-simple recipe for Laurie’s Soup, which is what I served in these bowls.

These salad/dessert plates that I used as a server for the soup, came from One Kings Lane last year. I’m always looking for china with silver on it.  (Wedgwood, Vera Wang’s Vera Lace)

Most rimmed china has a gold rim, but this dinner  plate, which is the pattern we selected when we got married, has a silver rim.  (Lenox Moonspun), and it is the reason I look for china with silver on it.

I used Eternally Yours flatware, because it is the only silverware set I have that has soup spoons in the set.

We also selected these water goblets (Lenox Moonspun) when we got married.  The pineapple etched wine glasses were a wedding gift that came with a matching decanter.

I used silver monogramed napkin rings that I ordered from an Etsy last year.

I bought eight of these napkins at an estate sale one time.  I paid $10.00 for all eight napkins.

I served dessert in silver champagne goblets that were another wedding gift.  When I saw the simple recipe for Grilled Bananas Foster on the blog, Home Made Modern, I couldn’t wait to try it, and it didn’t disappoint.

I moved one of the dessert plates to the tabletop, so you could see the pattern.  I also purchased these at an estate sale.  I think I paid $10.00 for four of these, and I use them frequently.

This is such a gorgeous table! Yes, I love the "elegant pumpkin" theme. May have to try it, too. It's a great change from the bold fall colors!

Definitely worth reposting Laurie! Yes, I love to take the pumpkin to the more elegant level. Wow, those silver chargers are out of this world. You could put rocks on those and it would be fit for a king. I love your silver and velvet - makes pumpkins seem more restful and chic!

Your table is so beautiful, Laurie. I love those pumpkins kicked up a notch with the silver. Your amazing friend, Susie, made some special velvet pumpkins, for sure. I love your wedding china, and the silver chargers have me salivating. Thanks for sharing all your bargain finds - treasures, for sure! Re-posting was the right thing to do. This table needed a second look! :-)
Blessings!

If your table is any indication, pumpkins are surely elegant. Why not?

Hi, Laurie! Sorry I've been MIA. I've been dealing with craziness re: my stupid back and shoulder. It seems like it's always something!!! :-( Anyway, I'm back for awhile and trying to catch up. Glad I did this week because you really DID make pumpkins look quite elegant! It seems to me that anything in mercury glass can transform a table. And mercury glass can take on kind of a "bewitching" tone which makes it great for Halloween. Good call!

I love those lettered napkin rings you bought at the Etsy shop. I'd love to get some with our initial on them. I'll search around. Those are always so nice for formal and semi-formal dinners.

You have some great bargains on this table. The bargains are even better because you say you use the items frequently. That makes all the difference! If you buy a something cool and only use it once or twice, what fun is that?

Very, very pretty! Have a beautiful weekend, and Happy Fall!
