I took an unscheduled blog break. We have been campaigning for a year, and the election was over this past Tuesday, the 20th. My sweetheart won, but I had no idea what a toll it had all taken on me until it was over. I ran around on nervous energy for a few days, and then I hit the wall and collapsed! Politics are not for me. This was an excruciating roller coaster ride, and I am so thankful to be off of it.
I’m afraid that the campaign and the election sucked some of the brain cells out of my head, and I didn’t have many to begin with.
I’ve been wandering around in a daze since election night.
I am so thankful that we had wonderful people working with us during this campaign. Were it not for them, I know I would have lost my mind. (That would be even worse than just losing some of my brain cells!)
I just wanted to check in and let you know that I may have forgotten everything else I once knew, but I haven’t forgotten my blog or the wonderful people who read it. laurie

Congratulations to your sweetheart on his win. I admire people who want to serve, that is a hard job to campaign and then do the work.
Oh, I know you are GLAD to have the election behind you! Congratulations on the win!
Congratulations to your husband, and congratulations to YOU for getting through it all!!! What a wild ride!
Take care of yourself, little Miss, and we'll see you soon after UPS arrives with those replacement brain cells! :-)
Dear Laurie, Congrats to your hubby and winning the race. With you by his side, he had the best to help him win. I know you must be exhausted. Enjoy and rest the holiday weekend knowing a job was well done. See you soon.
Sending hugs.
Laurie, I saw on FB that he had won. Wow! Congratulations!!!! I admire you. I know it was a stressful and busy year. Hopefully you two can kick back and relax a bit now. Take some time for yourself. Sending hugs ~ Sarah
Congratulations to your husband!!
Now sit back, put your feet up, have a nice cool drink and enjoy the weekend! :-D
So happy for you and your husband. What a big milestone in your lives! I can well imagine how intense it all was. Good thing you've reached the end of the tunnel. Hopefully now you can breathe and enjoy!
I honestly don't know how politicians families do it. It's so much work, and on top of it people can be serious jerks.
I'm glad that my candidate won! Yes, I know I don't have a clue about him or the race. I just know that anyone chosen by you would have to be my cup of tea. After all, I like everything else you choose...
Rest up. You will feel better in no time. (I hope.) I sure wish all my favorite bloggers would be blogging the way they used to.
I am so happy he won! Congratulations! I bet it is grueling, I agree, don't know how people do it over and over! Must be in their blood.
Rest up!
Congrats to BOTH of you, because your hard work obviously helped him win! Hope you can "semi" relax now! :)
