Yes, we had a grand Memorial Day. It wasn’t the fancy kind of “grand” though. It was the grandchildren kind of grand – which is really the only and the best kind of grand there is around our house.
Some of you have asked about our grandson, who weighed 1 pound, 14 ounces when he was born on November 30. Here he is, taking his first dip in the pool, and weighing in at 8 pounds 8 ounces! He is really doing well. Thanks to all who have prayed for him and who have continued to ask about him. He’s truly a miracle.
I love my new little box my sweetheart made for me. Once again, he just doesn’t understand me. I showed him a picture of a box like this, but the one I showed him had vintage yardsticks on it. We have a bunch of vintage yard sticks, but he went to Lowe’s and bought NEW yardsticks for this project! I hope I don’t offend him when I put some stain on these yard sticks to attempt to get an older look.
Be sure to come back tomorrow. I’m going to have something really grand to share with you. It doesn’t have anything to do with grandchildren though. It has to do with YOU! (I’m trying to build the suspense. Is it working? Come back tomorrow to see what it’s all about.) laurie

That is the best kind and your grands are darling! I'm so glad to see this sweet picture of the grandson that so many have prayed for. Thank God for this precious little boy!
And you gave them all a beautiful Memorial Day setting outside. So nice, Laurie!
Laurie, the best kind of grand ~ love the way you think! Darling photos of the grands, and how wonderful it is to see that healthy 8 lb 8oz little boy! Wow, that's fabulous news! Glad you had a terrific weekend.
Your grandchildren are beautiful and Cooper (hope I have his name right)

Yes, it's working. I love suspense, just not in a movie.
I was so blessed to see your beautiful grandson among the other grands at the party!! What a vision of answered prayer. Thanks so much for sharing him.
Everything looks terrific to me, and I love the box your husband made. (But will love it even more stained so I get what you're saying.) The good news is that you still have those vintage ones for yet another project.
BTW, I loved your Memorial Day mantel and that post too.
Please thank your husband for his bravery and service for me. I am so glad that he made it home.
Hi Laurie, what a grand day you enjoyed with the grands. So wonderful to see Cooper growing and doing so well. He sure is a little cutie and I bet he enjoyed his first dip in the pool.
Love your yardstick container created by your hubby.
See you for what's next.
Have a great day~
Hugs!
Your grandchildren are just darling! How blessed you are that they spend holidays with you.

You did have a grand time! Lots of fun/patriotic decor. So glad to hear the youngest is doing so well.
Totally agree! We had a "grand" Memorial Day weekend, too, and it was so wonderful to have everyone under one roof, even the Ohio contingent! Our Emily (born the same day as Cooper) finally got to meet her aunt, uncle, cousins, and great-grandfather. So glad Cooper is doing well!
