WEARIN’ O THE GREEN MANTEL

I’m moving on from Valentine décor to St. Patrick décor.  I have a real problem decorating our mantel when there isn’t a holiday to celebrate.  Our mantel has now gone from a Winter/Valentine’s Mantel to a St. Patrick’s Mantel, so I’m linking this post to Metamorphosis Monday at Between Naps on the Porch.  I’m also linking to Seasonal Sundays at The Tablescaper and Table Top Tuesday at A Stroll Thru Life.

These plates (Ascot by Wood and Sons, England) remind me of an Irish village, so I thought they were appropriate to march across the mantel for St. Patty’s Day.

I did my very first St Patrick's Day vignette today because I found a couple vintage things thrifting. I love your plates and the old cards!

This is the perfect St. Paddy's Day mantel Laurie! Those plates are beautiful. I spent the day running around to different thrift stores trying to get some St. Patrick decor inspiration. I did not buy a single thing in any of the three thrift stores I went into...a record for me! LOL And see, all I needed was to stop by here to get inspired!

I just packed away my Valentine's bling today. Now I'm trying to decide how to decorate for spring.

Not sure why since I am Irish with a last name of Duffy, but we don't seem to do much about St. Patrick's like we used to.
I love your pretty dishes..and all those shamrocks.

I think I'm glad my mantel doesn't lend itself real well to decorating because I'd have to buy lots of new stuff. I come nowhere close to having all the fun things you do.

I love it, and I'm grateful for the inspiration and the reminder that a holiday is right around the corner. For all intents and purposes, I totally missed Valentines Day, one of my favorite holidays of the whole year.

Coming here reminds me that there is always something upcoming to celebrate and not to grouse about what is missed.

I agree that it leaves a void on my mantels when there is no holiday. And this year St Pat's day and Easter are so close together! As my girls say "First World Problems!" Love your St. Patrick's Day mantle!!!
