GIVE THANKS

Our piano looked like this last month.  I posted about it here.

The witches, jack-o-lanterns, dark sky, and trick-or-treaters have been replaced by turkeys and leaves for Thanksgiving.

This lamp was in my childhood bedroom.  The girl does have a sheaf of wheat and a sickle, so I think she’s kind of Fall looking.

I copied the Autumn Days music from my childhood lesson book, and as you can see, my music teacher had a lot of corrections to write on the score.  I obviously wasn’t destined to become a musician.  (I’m still trying to figure out what I am destined to become!)

Y’all know how crafty I’m NOT.  But, Tricia at Simplicity in the South made it so easy for me to make a banner.  She generously gave away the download.  All I had to do was print and cut.  Isn’t it pretty?

Alma, at The Tablescaper still doesn’t have power, but being the dedicated and fabulous blogger that she is, she is doing her linkup this week!  I’m still praying for all of those who were affected by Sandy.  UPDATE REGARDING SOCKS FOR SANDY CAMPAIGN:  The need and the response are so great that the time to send packages has been extended.  Plenty of hats and gloves have been received, but socks and underwear (for both sexes and all sizes) are still needed.  If you haven’t yet participated and would like to send a package, or if you’d like to send another package, please see my post here.
I am linking to Seasonal Sundays at The Tablescaper.  I’m giving thanks for my friends in Blogville.  laurie

How wonderful that you still have your lamp from your childhood and it is so pretty. Your piano top is just as warm as your home. I love it!...Christine

Your piano top fall vignette is charming, Laurie. I love the fact that you still have the lamp that was in your childhood room.
Have a great weekend........Sarah

For some reason I never noticed how beautiful your piano is Laurie. Is it inlaid?
It is so cool to have your old lamp and piano lesson music. Love your banner too. It's all good!

I love the copy of the music. My husband and I both still have some of our old books...this is a great idea! Hugs!

I got my house switched over to Thanksgiving too (just because we were having a party and I didn't want to be embarrassed having Halloween still up!!!) I love the music too. What a treasure to have. Your lovely banner is great.

At the moment, I think I envy your energy to always be changing and updating your home. Love the sock campaign.

Great to have Seasonal Sundays back up, running, and having you be part of it!

You ARE a fabulous decorator and obviously very organized too. Destined isn't the word for you. Unless you are destined to become a flight attendant or doctor or....my girlfriend and I sometimes talk about what we might have been. That's what you reminded me of. :)

Boy, you have thought of every detail and what a great display space the piano provides. I have to confess that my seasonal decorating efforts are pretty minimal.

Your home is just a feast for the eyes! I love the piano! I am a new follower, and I am so excited that I found your blog! I am excited to take some ideas into my own home! I love the letters from "Simplicity in the South"- I am going to make those! Well, as soon as we get more ink in the printer! :)

Blessings!!!!
