DISHES, DISHES EVERYWHERE!

I am joining the Tablescaper’s “Where Do You Keep It” Party.  If you’ve been visiting my blog awhile, you’ve probably seen all of my china storage.  Same places as the last time the Tablescaper hosted this party – just more crowded!
My china pantry shelves are filled to the brim, so…

I’ve filled the countertops below the cabinets, and the ledges above the doors, with more china.

My stove alcove always displays dishes.

A china cabinet in the kitchen overflows with dishes, and the top of the cabinet and the wall hold even more dishes.

My shelves of Quimper are filled to capacity.

No books are stored in the Barrister’s Bookcase in the kitchen, but the bottom shelf is my grand’s doll house (should have straightened that up before taking a picture, but when I’m showing you my stacks and stacks of china, what difference does it make.  I just let it all show in this post).

My shelves, which were designed for beautiful display, have been utilitarian, as I’ve continued to cram dishes inside.

There are dishes in the sunroom.

After my previous post, several of you asked about my patriotic dishes.  I purchased these several years ago at Tuesday Morning.  They were made by Moda Home.  I don’t believe they are being made any more.  Delores at Vignette Designs did buy some on ebay last year.

and even dishes in the master bedroom!

The last time I attended this party, bloggers said they couldn’t wait to show their husband’s my dishes, because it would make their collection look miniature!  Do ya think I need a Dishalholic Anonymous program?  Me too!   Go see The Tablescaper for links to a lot of creative ideas for storing dishes.  Thank you for coming to see my dish storage, and feel free to show your husband, so he won’t ever again criticize you for bringing home dishes.  He’ll just be grateful he’s not married to that Bargain Hunting woman.  laurie

Laurie, yes you have a lot, but you have it displayed so beautifully. I love it all, but most of all I LOVE all that storage. I just need a house 3 times bigger and that would do. Hugs, Marty

From one dishaholic to another, " I don't understand - too many dishes!" Looks like you have plenty of storage place to hold all your dishes. Unfortunately I've run out of space.
Tell me more about the patriotic framed piece on the wall behind the rooster plates, etc. Is it a sampler? Love it! Can you send me a close up photo of that piece?
Looks like the Q collection is growing. Love that too!

Yep, sign me up for the Dishaholic Society! Your have incredible dishes - wow, and such great places to store them. All of that shelving - I am having a severe case of envy here!! Thanks for sharing!

I love your dishes! What a wealth of dishes!
Fortunately (?) we are very short on storage in our house. It keeps things simple!
Although I do have 2 sets of dishes boxed up in bins in the basement, aside from the 4 different sets we usually use...

Oh my! You have some dish storage going on in your house! Those built-ins are wonderful. I love to see that you have displayed them all over too instead of them sitting in a box (although you may do that too!). Thanks for the tour!

Holy Shit! Opps. Can I say that on your blog?
What I meant to say was how jealous I am of all your storage!!!! I have alot of different collections and if I had all the room that you do....I could display it all AND have room to buy more.

How wonderful that you have all the wonderful space for storage out in the open on shelves and in glass cases. That wall of white bookcases has me very envious. Is that in your Master Bedroom? Wow! dianne

I have said it before, and I'll say it again. I want to visit your house in person. I would be like a kid in a candy store. I love the fact that you don't stash them away out of sight but use them to decorate a home that really says "Laurie"

OK, it technically says, "Hi, my name is Laurie and I'm a..."

Of course since I'm one of those dish addicts too, I think it's just plain out WONDERFUL.

hey Laurie! I love this post. My grandmother was the china & dish collector, and I'm more the linen junkie. I adore dishes, but due to military moves, it's safer for me to haul linens with me everywhere we go! keep collecting!
