ON THE ROAD

fav_thngs_cmbnd_thumb[1][1]

I’m traveling!  My sweetheart and I haven’t been on a vacation in almost 10 years!  Sadly, we’ve let our business take over our lives.  We are on a mini road trip, and we are having such a great time!  (Yep -- We took the redneck pool house out of the back yard!) (For those who didn’t read my post about our redneck pool house, that is how I refer to our RV, since it seldom leaves our back yard!)

I’m going to share a few of my favorite images from Lebanon, Tennessee.  The town square in Lebanon is filled with antique shops.  I know you aren’t surprised that my favorites are vintage things.  I haven’t bought a lot, because I am a bargain hunter, and we are in a tourist town, so these are not garage sale prices.  I will share what I did buy when I get home.

We will be heading home soon, and I am looking forward to catching up on my blog reading.  (I am soooo far behind on my blog reading, and I apologize for not visiting recently.  I’ll be by for a visit soon.)  Thank you for joining me on our road trip today.  Be sure to go visit all of the links shown below.  You’ll be so glad you did.  laurie

Glad you are having fun! A road trip is always a blast. I love to visit new places. Tenn should be so pretty right now! I would love to visit those shops but I know prices are high and I'm a thrifty gal like you. See you when you get home!!

Oh my, look at all the fun you are having! What did you buy? That little ferris wheel is sooo cute! ( Please say you brought that home with you and that you are going to use it as a table centerpiece for the next grandchild's birthday!) And I Love those sparkly little paper houses too. :-)

Laurie,
Looks like the two of you are having a wonderful time!
The pictures are full of treasures...the vintage kitchen shot, the pumpkins, the shabby chic, the plates.
Looking forward to seeing what treasures you bring back.
Thanks for hosting one of the best parties of the week!

Hey, Eve..been missing you on '67
but so glad you and Atticus got away!
I loved your shopping pics..I was trying so hard to see the price tag on the vintage toy Ferris Wheel..I could use that for Circus-themed Gran Camp! Sha didn't get to come so I have just decorated all day and have enjoyed placing the special things you gave me for H'ween. Not only did undefeated Conway lose, but so did the UA Hogs..bad day for sports! Soos

Laurie,
Sounds like you are enjoying your time away. I love that red and white table with all the vintage kitchen bowls, bread box, etc.
The blue and white tile in my kitchen isn't original. My carpenter installed it about 4 yrs ago. I love it, as houses of that period did have tile countertops :)

Hi Laurie:

Sorry to be so late in liking up, these weekends are busy!

So funny that we both have a visiting post this weekend. I love wandering, but don't often have the time to do it. So happy to hear that you and your hubby took a well earned vacation!

I too am behind in my blog visiting. I'm next off to see your kitchen post. I was too busy to make that one.

Thanks so much for participating in Seasonal Sundays.

So happy you are getting a vacation! And sometimes it is nice to look at those touristy places then go back to your house on wheels and pat yourself on the back for finding your $50 platter for 50 cents where you do shop.
Or laugh at how something you grew up playing with (and maybe altered) is now prized in pristine condition, but you wouldn't give up those childhood memories at any price.

Hope you're having fun. Of course, you could be back by now! I was absent from blogland most of last week having fun with daughters home from college.

I'm trying to catch up too.
I LOVE the turkey dishes. I'm sure all the well versed folks know what they're called, but I'll just call them that. My mother would go hog wild in the Christmas store. Oh... yes!

If you want some bargains, you should come to Bisbee, AZ. Many antique stores there with very good prices. This guy Mr. Nelson takes photographs of the things in the stores for his Flickr acct. http://www.flickr.com/photos/nelsonaz/
If you're ever out this way give me a holler!
