MOTHER’S ARE THE BEST FOR FAVORITE THINGS

Laurie what a cute pic of you and your sister. You two look a lot alike in that picture. Some of your images look like Kate Greenway, esp. the plate. I love that artist.

Laurie, what a clever idea and a beautiful tribute to mothers. Like you, I love these little scenes of mothers and children. You know there are many Quimper plates with just such scenes. A friend in Dallas collects this genre. You could have seen her collection during the meeting. (Hint, that you should plan to join us next Oct.) :-)

My favorite is the photo of you and your sister with your mother. Love the matching outfits! My sister and I often wore matching outfits though usually in different colors. Oh, the 50s. What a fun photo to have of the three of you.

Glad you enjoyed the pig party. It was fun to put together. And the faience pigs are some I've found at various markets in France. The one shown on this thumbnail is new production. I've had her about 10 years.

Thanks for hosting this fun weekly party!
Happy Mother's Day to you! ~ Sarah

Laurie-I have seen this picture of your mother, you, and your sister before and I just love it! That really was a different time wasn't it? Can you imagine "dressing" to shop and do errands?? I hope that you are surrounded by everyone you love (and they are doing the cooking or the paying!) Happy Mother's Day--YOU are one of MY favorite things :)

We had lunch with the kids and g'kids yesterday, for Mother's Day.

On the way home I had to make a stop at Target. As we people watched, there, J and I wondered aloud what our grandmother's would think of the way ladies dress, these days. We were talking, in particular, about how we don't dress up like we used to.

I love the photo of you, your sister and mother. She was dressed the way my Granny dressed, almost every day. Always a dress and her hair and make up just right, whether she was shopping, feeding the chickens, doing laundry, or working in the flowers.

Happy Mother's Day, Laurie!

How fun! What a great post. We have a photo in our family that is widely disputed as to who the "favorite" child is in the photo. :) How funny!
