WE ARE SUCH PARTY ANIMALS!

(I'm afraid I let the holidays overwhelm me, and I have had some trouble getting back to my blog. I'm so sorry I haven't visited all of my favorite blogs. If I'd known I was going to take a little break, I would have let you know, but since the break was accidental, I couldn't notify you. Every night, I thought I would be able to visit blogs tomorrow, but the next night came, and I still had not been able to visit blogs. I'll be back "in the groove" soon and will come catch up on your blog postings. Thank you for understanding.)

Welcome to our wild and crazy New Year's celebration!

I always get my Christmas decor put up before New Year's Eve. Since we have a real tree, after I take off the ornaments, my husband and son get the tree out of the house. One year, 20 or so years ago, due to a work situation, my husband was unable to get the tree out before New Years, so I decorated the tree for New Years. It has now become a tradition to have at least one New Year's tree. My grandchildren love decorating the NY tree, because all you do is throw as much "stuff" on the tree as you can! New Year's decor can be tacky and crazy, because that's what New Years is all about. That's my story, and I'm sticking to it!

We,too, had our New Year's Eve celebration with our granddaughter (no puppy tho!). May just be the best New Year's I've ever had!!

In fact, this must be a secret you don't figure out until you actually are a Grandmother! All those years searching for the big New Year's Party with the best guy, the best dress, the best party, the best "high"....What a waste of time! Grandmas and Grandpas and grandkids are the very best it could ever be!! (Shhhh, don't tell anyone under 50!!)

Happy New Year!

Laurie, You took the words out of my mouth about not being able to visit and having an unplanned break. The holidays are so busy!

I love all your NYE decorations. Really love your vintage cards (I think I say that every new holiday, but it's true!) Your wild and crazy guests are just precious! :D Jewel

I'm ready...the Holidays kept me really busy, as I'm sure all of us were. I hope you are having a great start to the new year! Kristen

LoL, I smiled when I saw your floor picture. What a great post. We to had our granchildren and granddog for New Years Eve. Sadly, we were all in bed snoring by 10:30. We did tape Dick Clarks New Years Eve and for breakfast we watched the ball drop.

Laurie, looks like a lot of fun! Love the idea of a New Year's tree. Cute grands and beautiful note. Thank you! You know I feel the same. I'm at work on a post for Blue Monday and Mosaic Monday and Three or More Tuesday. Hope to have it up in a few hours. I'm sharing the thoughtful gift you sent me as a thank you. I hope you'll stop by later.
Been thinking about you during the holidays. I feel so blessed that we had time for lunch and a good visit when you came through town. Let's plan another one sometime in 2010!
Hugs ~ Sarah

Hey Sweet Laurie! A New Years Tree.....hmmm, what about a St. Patricks Tree? Yepper, some years it's been March before I've got my tree down. My Beloved just loves the lights and sometimes I can't get him to let me take it down earlier. :) Love your New Years decorations! You be blessed! ~CC Catherine

That's a of New Year's decorations. I don't think I've ever seen so many New Year's decorations in one place. I particularly love that cup 'o kindness!
