CASTLE TOURING IN KENTUCKY

Conrad-Caldwell Museum-Bargain Decorating with Laurie

I recently shared the dining room (here) in the Conrad-Caldwell House Museum in Old Louisville, Kentucky (referred to as the Kentucky Castle). Today, I'm sharing more of that remarkable home.

The craftsmanship in this home is amazing. Just look at those doors.

At the end of a large entry hall is a stairway. This fireplace and little sitting area is nestled in the corner at the bottom of the stairs.

The woodwork in this home is fascinating. The fireplace in the previous image is behind that stair railing on the left.

So much detail in the bannister and little balcony.

This painting, on the stair landing, is gigantic.

Beautiful stained glass on another stair landing.

The girl's bedroom is so sweet.

This feminine fireplace is in the girls bedroom. Did you notice the little doll furniture on the hearth?

Even her closet doors have frilly detailing.

This masculine fireplace mantel is in the gentleman's study.

And one more ornate fireplace mantel before we leave.
I hope you enjoyed touring this historic home with me. Thank you for coming along.

Oh my goodness, the woodwork! I bet there are very few craftsmen left who know how to do that kind of amazing work. Thanks for sharing this. :)
