SUNFLOWER TABLESCAPE

Sunflower Tablescape-Bargain Decorating with Laurie
I won!  Yippeee!  And what did I win?  Wonderful tablescaping treasures.  And where did I win these beauties?  At Candy’s lovely blog, Plum Creek Place

My prizes included these two fun bowls (Park Designs, Sunny Day).

Don’t you love the sunflowers around the bowls, and I really like that red rim on the bowls.  There was just enough nip in the air to serve chili.

Under each bowl, I used green salad plates (Casa Stone, Autumn Waves).Sunflower Tablescape-Bargain Decorating with Laurie
The dinner plates, bought on sale a few years ago, are Pier 1, Oralia.  A woven charger forms the base for each place setting.

The china napkin rings were painted for my mother by one of her friends about 35 years ago.

My prize package also contained two sets of salt and pepper shakers!  (I’m telling you, this was a major prize, and it wasn’t a leg lamp).  I used the Sunflower shakers and gave my sweetheart mushroom shakers.

A tiered Fall leaf server held some cornbread squares.  Although this table runner (which I’ve had for years) looks like Summer, it seemed to coordinate with the Sunflower theme.

I made a cheese ball, so I could use my cute little spreader from my prize package to eat with the chili.

Faux Sunflowers filled a vase on the table.

But the REAL centerpiece was this adorable Sunflower server from my prize package.  Each of the petals contained something to go with our chili.  This handy-dandy server held apple bites, chopped onions (although I add onions to the chili when it is cooking, we like a few raw onions on top), croutons. crackers. and  green olives. The bowl in the center held a little hot sauce, in case my sweetheart needed to spice up his chili.  Under the Sunflower set, I used a flower-embossed serving plate on top of a turn table, so we could easily reach each petal.

In addition to all of these wonderful goodies in my prize box, there were eight beautiful napkins, which I thought were too fancy for our chili dinner.  I can promise you that these beauties will soon show up on another tablescape.

Yes, I do love sunflowers and you've certainly got your share of them. For some reason I feel that sunflowers add a touch of happiness wherever/however they are presented.
