VIGNETTE GROUPINGS

Do you like to group similar items for vignettes?  I love to gather items with a similar color or theme and put them together.

Bargain Hunting with Laurie

Since blue and white china is a favorite of mine, a grouping of blue and white china pieces on a tray brightens my day.

I like to see my script-covered apples lined up to march down the front of my hutch.  I especially love them, because I don’t have to move them to open the doors to get something out of the hutch.

While we are looking at my hutch, I want to show you the little lamps I got at a sale at one of my favorite stores.  They were $15.00 each, and they spoke to me (they were actually yelling – “take me home”).

At the same sale, I purchased this pretty little wreath for $7.00.  I knew I would spend more on that if I tried to make it myself (not to mention the time it would take me).

I also do groupings of only a couple of similar things.

A glass apple and a glass pear compliment the plate that was painted by my aunt.

I think this little carved figure of a man looks like he just walked out of the scene on this plate.

The metal bowl, filled with faux fruit is my attempt to mimic the painting above it.

On this table, I grouped a collection of small dogs on a tray. I smile every time I pass this vignette. Some were gifts, but most were purchased at yard sales at very low prices.  The little Staffordshire on the back of the tray was purchased at an estate sale for $10.00, the most I've paid for any of them.

I love all of your little dog figurines. Today I put together some of my blue and white nautical bowls and containers. They look so pretty side by side! Sweet hugs!

Laurie,
You are a master at creating vignettes! I am taking lessons from you because that is not a strength of mine! I really like those apples, too!

You have such an elegant style Laurie! I love the idea of the items in the vignette matching the artwork. You're right the wooden carved figure does look like he walked out of the village! You get an A for creativity!

Laurie, each vignette is lovely, but the tray with the sweet doggies is my favorite. You find some great deals at your estate sales. '-)

My favorite vignettes are the ones that tell a story. It can be a color story or a theme like the fruit or what have you. I just like a theme or story. My favorite one of yours (and I love it all btw) is the one where you mimic the fruit bowl painting. That's just wonderful IMO.

And I laughed about those screaming lamps. I think some of their Georgia relatives have been trying to hail me down lately. So far, I have resisted. You make it sooooo hard.

Laurie, truly wonderful vignettes showcasing your gorgeous treasures. I love those script apples and how nice you don't have to move them to open the hutch doors. You really have an eye to group just the right pieces together. You are so talented my friend.
Have a great week.
Hugs, Celestina Marie

I love all your vignettes, but I do think my favorite is the one with all the little doggies. My mom has a similar collection. Adorable.

Great colors! I feel like this Tuscan art jar would look great placed in this room, I absolutely love the color combination. Also could be used as a good statement piece.
