I’m getting rid of the ghosts ... witches and jack-o-lanterns too. This is what one end of my kitchen island looked like last week.
It now hosts pilgrim salt and pepper shakers and other Thanksgiving decor. (Yes, this is my current blog header, but you don’t remember that you just saw that, right?).
Last week, I showed you a table in our family room that looked like this.
Now, it looks like this (well, not exactly like this, since I played around with the paint in Photoscape for this picture).
My gardener, carrying the season’s bounty, was added along with a mirrored tray. (Nothing stays the same for very long around my house!)
On the other side of the fireplace, this dresser top (yep, I have a dresser in the family room!) has changed from Halloween decor to Thanksgiving decor. “Befores and Afters” are shown below.
The fireplace is between these two table tops, and since I’m afraid you might not have ever seen my fireplace (LOL!), I am showing you the wall with these table tops.
I do not have a “before” of the next picture, because there is no such thing. Our dog dislikes having her picture made as much as I dislike having mine made. When she sees the camera, she takes off running, unless there is a fire in the fireplace. Since it was finally cool enough to light a fire, I’d like to introduce you to our fireplace lover, Elsie.

Oh Laurie, everything has some serious drool power. GORGEOUS. I love it all. Of course you know that I am loving all of the cloches, and the tiered display with the cloche on top is just unreal. Your home is so pretty and I would love to curl up by that fire too and just take it all in. Thanks so much for the beautiful inspiration and for linking to TTT. Hugs, Marty
Love all of your fall vignettes. I am glad I am not the only one who decorates the dogs for the seasons.
loved looking :) You made me said though - I remembered I had a set of salt & pepper shakers just like those (pilgrim boy & girl) and I guess I got rid of them in a move! :( I had not thought of them until the picture popped up. I absolutely love your mantel & fireplace. So cozy! Joining you at Marty's.
Hiya Laurie~ oh my, but your fall vignettes are so beautiful! And your family room is so warm and cozy and inviting! I had the opposite effect with my dog..Winston WANTED to be in the pictures..so how could I resist!!

That is such a charming use of the stacked cake platters. The fireplace is wonderful. I won't be decorating that for Fall as we are gone for Thanksgiving, so I am doing just a little.
Love the fashionable collar. Dogs who have it all!
I love how you decorated your fireplace. It is just gorgeous! I also love your tiered cake plates with pumpkins and the indian figurine in the canoe. Everything looks so festive!
L A U R I E! O my gosh! Your fireplace mantel is decorated sooo gorgeously! I don't think I've ever had a look at this room before! You've done a beautiful job with it! I love that gorgeous tall ceramic vase on the hearth too!! it ALL looks so warm and inviting!

Gosh -- you're always at least five steps ahead of me! Love your Thanksgiving pilgrims among the pumpkins -- thanks for your sweet visit.
Laurie, I love your family room. It is so pretty and warm and cozy, too. I love your vignette changes. Thanks so much for joining my party.
Great job on your fall touches. The tiered vignette with the cloche on top is outstanding. I'm thinking that I have to try a version of that one! Your fireplace is gorgeous! Thank you for sharing a slice of your Fall Homescape. Cherry Kay
Hi Laurie~
Wow!!! Your fireplace and living room are incredible! What a beautiful space you have to decorate and relax in!! I love the cloche's in your post and all the pretty decorations you added! Very warm and inviting! :)
I really like your new header, Laurie! And the display looks wonderful in your kitchen. Everything you shared here looks great -- warm and festive! I think a dresser in the family room is a fantastic idea (display area with storage drawers!).
Hope the rest of your week goes well.
