I KNOW MOTHER'S DAY IS OVER!

For my Tablescape Thursday post, I am posting my Mother's Day tables. As usual, I got a little carried away. Ya'll know how I love a theme. I started getting out things with flowers on them, and I just couldn't stop! If you don't know where to go to find the links for beautiful tablescapes, I don't know what rock you've been hiding under, but it's time to get out from under it and go to Susan's beautiful blog, Between Naps on the Porch.

A pink plaid tablecloth topped with a floral square; floral place card holders; floral napkin rings, and of course real flowers too! Little baskets (which could hold flowers!) are my salt cellars.
My mother's floral china (Royal Doulton Chelsea Rose).
My flatware features flowers (Towle Old Master), and even the wine glasses have flowers on them!

I think this is a grandmother sewing a child's pants while they are on him, but I pretended it was a mother (just a very old one!)

Ya'll know that I always like for my grandchildren's table to sort of mimic the adult table, but with unbreakables.
Since I had the salt cellar baskets on the adult table, I put little baskets (from Easter decor) on the children's table and put their name cards in them, so they would have place cards too. I used plastic flower plates, and paper plates for chargers.

A plastic wine glass (with a flower on the stem) holds the flower on their table.

Vintage floral and Mother's Day cards along with photos of mothers in the family were clipped to a ribbon on the fireplace mantle.

See these cute clothes pins I used? I ordered those from Robin at Bittersweet Punkin. Don't ya love um? I do!

~~~~~~~~~~
If you saw my post Monday, you know I am jumpin' up and down and screaming, because Kris Allen is one of the final two competing on American Idol!!! The last chance to cast a vote will be next Tuesday! GO KRIS!! Danny did such a fabulous job, and I cried when he sang his swan song tonight. It was beautiful. All of you Danny fans might consider voting for Kris Tuesday night! I am shamelessly soliciting votes for our Arkansas contestant (but he does deserve the votes!). On my post about Kris, Kathleen at Cuisine Kathleen commented that she doesn't watch the show, but she trusts me when I say he is worth her vote (Thanks Kathleen)! You trust me too, right? Vote for Kris!
Don't forget to go to Between Naps on the Porch, so you won't miss all of the beautiful tables in Blogville today. Thanks so much for visiting me. laurie
OH Laurie,
Again just so absolutely fabulous! You have such a creative knack and how you do all that and work full time is amazing! Your Mothers china is just fabulous and how fitting for Mothers day! The kids table is just the cutest! That is an amazing Grandma who has a pool and sets up fabulous tables for them. I was sad about Danny, being a WI. boy and all. He was just so nice too! I will vote for Chris because he also seems so nice and Adam is wonderful but the judges have kind of pre-ordained him and it is kind of bugging me. OH, I have a little plug for you today on my tablescape. Hugs, Cindy
HI Laurie,
Oh, I love your Mother's Day tables. I too love themes and your flower theme is perfect for MOM. I especially liked the large daisy shaped salad plates. Too cute. I love things that add whimsy to a table especially in the spring. It's been so nice to visit you today. I'll be back.
I really love how you use vintage cards!!! I have a few reproductions that I scatter around my parlor, but I don't think they add much. You really get some impact from concentrating them. I love the clothespins!
All your floral tableware is so pretty. Love the salt cellar baskets. And I love your grandchildren table. You always find a way to carry out your theme, but make it fun and non-breakable!!! I know y'all had a great Mother's Day! :D Jewel
I'm coming right over. What a beautiful setting. I have napkin rings just like those. I'm so happy your contestant of choice won. We have a group of ladies who run a gambling pool every season. They have a lot of fun with it.
I love your tables Laurie. I really like that you do a table for your grandchildren. I love the china, the little baskets you used for salt cellars and the napkin rings. Oh and the tablecloth.
Thanks for visiting my blog & leaving me a comment. I like both Chris & Adam. I'd be happy if either of them win. But I would have been happy if any of the final 3 would have won. I just think that Adam will win & besides he's from San Diego & that is where I am from. So Chris is your home town boy, Adam is mine. But I like them both just the same.
Hi, Laurie, Thanks for praying, I see I am on your Prayer List. Thank you, I am better, but I am big at over doing and go right back down. lol Just trying to get some strength back to hit surgery! I woke up one morning this week at 3:00am and could not move my arm on my bad left side. I worked with it forever, I finally got it going. I had the worst pain day this year. My daughter, was sick and sent Grandchildren over with a cookie mix. Now, How could I refuse, so No meds for me. We did it and they had so much fun. For this is what I have wanted to do for a long time bake cookies with them. I love the cloth, are the little pink rose dish place card holders? Love the salt cellar idea! Your the greatest! Love the china! I adore the children's table! I keep saying I going to do this, but my girls want the children at the table, which is too small for 10. I need to go to our home place and search for the other leaf for my table. Now if I fix it up as cute as yours! Maybe I can get them to let me have a child table! I saved a table from when my girls were in their teens to have a child table, I have 3 little wooden chairs, need one more. Trying to get some one to take me to a great neighborhood sale on Sat. Here to hoping! lol
