A pink plaid tablecloth topped with a floral square; floral place card holders; floral napkin rings, and of course real flowers too! Little baskets (which could hold flowers!) are my salt cellars.
My mother's floral china (Royal Doulton Chelsea Rose).
My mother's floral china (Royal Doulton Chelsea Rose).
My flatware features flowers (Towle Old Master), and even the wine glasses have flowers on them!
I think this is a grandmother sewing a child's pants while they are on him, but I pretended it was a mother (just a very old one!)
Ya'll know that I always like for my grandchildren's table to sort of mimic the adult table, but with unbreakables.
Since I had the salt cellar baskets on the adult table, I put little baskets (from Easter decor) on the children's table and put their name cards in them, so they would have place cards too. I used plastic flower plates, and paper plates for chargers.

Vintage floral and Mother's Day cards along with photos of mothers in the family were clipped to a ribbon on the fireplace mantle.
See these cute clothes pins I used? I ordered those from Robin at Bittersweet Punkin. Don't ya love um? I do!

If you saw my post Monday, you know I am jumpin' up and down and screaming, because Kris Allen is one of the final two competing on American Idol!!! The last chance to cast a vote will be next Tuesday! GO KRIS!! Danny did such a fabulous job, and I cried when he sang his swan song tonight. It was beautiful. All of you Danny fans might consider voting for Kris Tuesday night! I am shamelessly soliciting votes for our Arkansas contestant (but he does deserve the votes!). On my post about Kris, Kathleen at Cuisine Kathleen commented that she doesn't watch the show, but she trusts me when I say he is worth her vote (Thanks Kathleen)! You trust me too, right? Vote for Kris!
Don't forget to go to Between Naps on the Porch, so you won't miss all of the beautiful tables in Blogville today. Thanks so much for visiting me. laurie

LOL Laurie, Love your post... I especially love the china and the vintage cards on the ribbon. Now about your shameless solicitation of
Chris. I think he is an awesome boy and a great singer but.....I... truly.....um... love....um... Adam...
okay there I said it...
I love Adam!!! LOL but I can say I won't loose any sleep over either of them winning. lol you make me laugh.
~Athella
I love florals, especially roses, and anything pink! So I sure did love and appreciate this lovely tablescape! I think my favorite is that beautiful tablecloth. You added so many special touches that I bet everyone felt extra blessed! Even the children! What a great idea for their table.
Kady
Hi Laurie, so Happy for Kris, he really deserves to win, I am gonna vote for him.
Your Mother's day table is so beautiful, love your centerpiece, it's unique and made me smile and your little ones must have felt so special sat at their own table with placecards and flowery place settings. what a wonderful day you had. fingers crossed for Kris, Kathy.
Your tables are so pretty. I was ohing over the big table then saw the kids table & it's just so cute. I bed the kids just love eating at your house.
The clothes pins are so adorable! Too cute Laurie! ☺ Diane
OH Laurie,
Again just so absolutely fabulous! You have such a creative knack and how you do all that and work full time is amazing! Your Mothers china is just fabulous and how fitting for Mothers day! The kids table is just the cutest! That is an amazing Grandma who has a pool and sets up fabulous tables for them. I was sad about Danny, being a WI. boy and all. He was just so nice too! I will vote for Chris because he also seems so nice and Adam is wonderful but the judges have kind of pre-ordained him and it is kind of bugging me. OH, I have a little plug for you today on my tablescape. Hugs, Cindy
Your Mother's Day table is a feast for the eyes! Even the children's table and paper plates are very pretty.
Laurie you set such nifty tables. I always look forward to seeing what you've done! These tables are fabulous!!!
Love the children's table! Hope you got my comment I added last night on your AI parade post!
Laurie, your table is perfect for a Mother's Day meal! Love the little baskets.

Laurie, your double tables always amaze me. You know your grandkids will have the best memories of those special tables. It's all beautiful. I love your china!
Awhhhh! You always set the most fabulous tables! I would just love to come and even sit at the kid's table! You've got to be the most thoughtful hostess ever with all the extra love you put into all these "scapes". I want to be a part of your family! Can I just come and be a long lost cousin or something?
HI Laurie,
Oh, I love your Mother's Day tables. I too love themes and your flower theme is perfect for MOM. I especially liked the large daisy shaped salad plates. Too cute. I love things that add whimsy to a table especially in the spring. It's been so nice to visit you today. I'll be back.
Alisa :-)
I really love how you use vintage cards!!! I have a few reproductions that I scatter around my parlor, but I don't think they add much. You really get some impact from concentrating them. I love the clothespins!
All your floral tableware is so pretty. Love the salt cellar baskets. And I love your grandchildren table. You always find a way to carry out your theme, but make it fun and non-breakable!!! I know y'all had a great Mother's Day! :D Jewel
I want to be a kid again; I want to sit at their table. Both adult and childrens table is so beautiful to look at and spring has sprung at your home. Lovely
Very charming! I love anything and everything flowers. I think the tablecloth is beautiful.
Gorgeous table, Laurie! I posted about my Mother's Day Brunch too! I love your plaid tablecloth and all of your dishes!
I love the tablecloth with the floral square, so pretty together. And it sets the perfect mood for your table.
So pretty and so spring!!
Laurie,
Once again you have out done yourself!!! The floral theme is one of my favorites!!! All of your beautiful touches just scream SPRING!!! The kids table is so sweet and I love that everything is child proof...perfect!!!
We are still voting for Kris!!! With any luck he will be the next American Idol!!! GO KRIS!!!
Have a great day, Laurie!!!

I love your table, very vintage!!! The china is so pretty.
Uh Laurie, whenever you say "Oh I'm just going to throw a few things together" I know it is always going to be beautiful! You throw things together better than any body I know. If you could come to my house and throw things together I would just love it! Hahahhaa....
Anyhoo, I love the tablesetting, the flowers, all of them, the vintage cards...my fave!~ You go girl!

Hey Laurie! Girl! I love that table! that china is beautiful! You know how I am about fleurs! I think Athella's comment is so funny! I don't watch American Idol so I can laugh! The girl from Memphis already got voted off! I watch Dancing with the Stars! I love all the finalists! But if I had to pick I think I'd go ahead and pick Melissa! She needs to win at something after being dumped on the Bachelor!! She is an awesome dancer! You take care Laurie! God Bless! Lauralu :) (thanks for the prayers! They're working!)
LAURIE, AS USUAL, YOUR TABLE WAS FANTASTIC, AS WAS THE CHILDREN'S TABLE. GREAT JOB!
Laurie,
Your tablescape is just lovely. I love all the sentimental pieces and I especially like how you used the tiny baskets as salt cellars. I've been too busy to watch AI for a while, but I do remember Kris as being a favorite. I'll be sure to tune in for the last couple of shows. TTYL!
Hi Laurie!
It's so wonderful that Kris made it to the finals! Can't wait until next Tuesday!!!
Your Mother's Day table is so beautiful. I love the kids table!
Also, your mantle display is so special. You put so much thought into all your decorating!

Carol
Hi Laurie
Your mother's day table looks beautiful and I think it is so sweet that you spend just as much effort on the kid's table! I hope you enjoyed the day.
Hugs, Rhondi
I love both of your tables. You always do a great job!
Laurie, That is a beautiful table for Mother's Day, and the children's table is precious. My grands are just getting old enough to do that, too, and I love it. Your adult table is beautiful...and I love how you take extra care in making the kids table wonderful too. I'm sure they will remember the effort as they grow up. And I'm so glad Kris made it to the finals...I was hoping for a Kris and Adam showdown. Don't hate me but I'm an Adam fan. I just think he is so extra talented. But I'll be happy with either of them as the winner.
Aw, how sweet ! Your table is lovely..and I don't think I will ever forget your Mother's Day post, so when your said your mom's dishes I immed pictured that lovely lady.

Hi Laurie
Your tablescape is lovely. I love your flower dishes with the matching glasses…and the tablecloth. Everything is so inviting…wish I was coming over.. thank you for sharing.
I was thinking about you while watching American Idol and wondered how far away from where he is that you are…wondered whether you were one of the huge crowd to see Kris. Way to go Arkansas!!!
Have a lovely weekend.
Judi
I love your tablescape, Laurie. Everything is so pretty, love your mom's plate and your figurine centerpiece. You have the luckiest grandkids, You make them feel so special too with their special tablescape. Love the floral theme, it is so Victorian, so romantic...Christine
I'm coming right over. What a beautiful setting. I have napkin rings just like those. I'm so happy your contestant of choice won. We have a group of ladies who run a gambling pool every season. They have a lot of fun with it.
I love your tables Laurie. I really like that you do a table for your grandchildren. I love the china, the little baskets you used for salt cellars and the napkin rings. Oh and the tablecloth.
Thanks for visiting my blog & leaving me a comment. I like both Chris & Adam. I'd be happy if either of them win. But I would have been happy if any of the final 3 would have won. I just think that Adam will win & besides he's from San Diego & that is where I am from. So Chris is your home town boy, Adam is mine. But I like them both just the same.
Hi Laurie!
What a purdy tablescape! I love your mama's china too...so sweet.
Hey thanks for the tip about loading photos under the none placement button (I wondered about that..but now I will definately try it).
Now about those Idol boys...I think Chris is a doll!!...but I gotta confess I'm an Adam Lambert fan! His looks kinda remind me of Elvis lol! and the way he can hit those high notes...wow!
But who knows, maybe there will be a tie!!
Have a nice weekend, it's supposed to be triple digits here!! Yuck!
TTyL!
Sherri:)

Hi Laurie - me again
I got so excited about your wonderful post and then Kris Allen I forgot to mention your tablescape is so lovely! I really love the little "mother" child figurine. Very special.
Hope you have a lovely weekend.
Judi
Hi, Laurie, Thanks for praying, I see I am on your Prayer List. Thank you, I am better, but I am big at over doing and go right back down. lol Just trying to get some strength back to hit surgery! I woke up one morning this week at 3:00am and could not move my arm on my bad left side. I worked with it forever, I finally got it going. I had the worst pain day this year. My daughter, was sick and sent Grandchildren over with a cookie mix. Now, How could I refuse, so No meds for me. We did it and they had so much fun. For this is what I have wanted to do for a long time bake cookies with them. I love the cloth, are the little pink rose dish place card holders? Love the salt cellar idea! Your the greatest! Love the china! I adore the children's table! I keep saying I going to do this, but my girls want the children at the table, which is too small for 10. I need to go to our home place and search for the other leaf for my table. Now if I fix it up as cute as yours! Maybe I can get them to let me have a child table! I saved a table from when my girls were in their teens to have a child table, I have 3 little wooden chairs, need one more. Trying to get some one to take me to a great neighborhood sale on Sat. Here to hoping! lol
Great table! The vintage cards are great. I love the little piece of the grandmother sewing the little boy's pants. Perfect Mother's Day centerpiece!!
P.S. I like Kris, too! ;)
Laurie...LOVE your beautiful, feminine Mother's Day table! The china is darling. And I just love the grandmother sewing on the button. She is a Mom, too...even if it isn't to the little boy. :-)
The mantel is wonderful with the vintage cards...you have such a wonderful collection with your Valentines and Mother's Day cards!
I hope your Mother's Day was awesome! My son is away at school...one of these days I'll get to spend a Mother's Day with him again.
Love ya,
Susan
I love your tablescape and the kid's table too.
Those clothes pins are adorable.
Hi Laurie, Your tablescape was just perfect for mother's day. Very pretty! We had family over and cooked out hotdogs and hamburgers. Nothing fancy, just paper plates! Not pretty ones either I might add.lol...Thanks for your nice comments on the new patio. We are enjoying it! Kristen

Laurie,
I would not mind sitting at the children’s table at your home, how cute! I love your Mother’s china, how great you have them. They make a wonderful heirloom and look so pretty on top of your tablecloth. I am a believer you can never have enough flowers, this is perfect.
~Cathy~
Laurie, I just love the children's plates. The floral ones. I don't know how you do it all. You must have tons of energy or take Geritol.
Aaawww Laurie you table is so beautiful. And the centerpiece figurine will definitely bring smiles in the table. The "Mom" and the little boy are just cute!
Also love the table for the kids. Like the little basket with their names in it. I'm sure they had lots of fun too!
