It's been cold here in Arkansas, but I know it's been a lot colder other places.
What do you do when it looks like this (or worse) outside?
I set a table in front of the fireplace and put a pot of soup on. A quilt table topper makes me feel even warmer.
I get out the Snowflake by Noble Excellence china.
I used a silver colored charger under the plate stack.
Does the color silver make you think of ice?
The bread and butter plates (which I used for crackers and butter) are the same pattern name, but a different color and a different snowflake.
The crystal goblets remind me of cracked ice. The silver and clear wine stems just seemed to go with the other silver on the table.
I'm calling the napkin color ice blue, because that's the only way I can justify using these napkins on this table! I tied a snowflake Christmas ornament on to each napkin.
Our centerpiece is also our main course. This soup tureen reminds me of snow drifts, and I used a snow and ice topper on the cake plate under the tureen.
I added a sparkling snowflake ornament to the top of the mirror under the tureen.
I served hot ham and cheese on rolls in this basket.
What do I do when the sun begins to set behind iced limbs and utility wires?
I light a couple of candles.
I feel a lot warmer now. I hope you're staying warm wherever you are. Thank you for coming to visit.
This post is partying with Tablescape Thursday at Between Naps on the Porch and Talk of the Town at Knick of Time.

Pretty table, Laurie! I love all the snowflakes. I am freezing in Illinois, so snowy out. Stay warm!....Christine
What fun! I am loving your icy January tablescape.
Love your table setting ,the quilt tablecloth really sets the warmness of the table.
I love a quilt for a tablecloth
It's to really warm up here in central Missouri today over 40
I think it looks like a warm cozy spot to have some soup and sandwiches
I really enjoyed this post. Beautiful photos. The whole setting in front of the fireplace is beautiful as a still life painting. Your dishes are so very charming and the words you used in your description made me feel like I was there. I like the way you placed the centerpieces on the mirror. You know I think I have that cake plate. I got mine years ago. It is fun to see someone else have it.
Have a great week.
Love the idea of setting a table in front of the fire, and a pot of soup sounds delicious. Hope you are staying warm and cozy. '-)
