FLOWER POWER TABLESCAPE

summer tablescape 1

Is there such a thing as too much sunlight when taking pictures?  Please excuse the washed out look of some of these outdoor pictures.  We’ve had so much rain lately that the bright sun was a welcome sight.  I can’t remember where I got the floral tablecloth.

A flower power place setting for outdoor dining.

Summer tablescape 1a2

I purchased the petal bowls and plates at a Pier One sale several years ago.  For this table, I used two pink sets, and…

two yellow sets.

I think I got these melamine plates at Tuesday Morning a couple of years ago (Certified International, Jennifer Brinley).

For chargers, I used plastic paper plate holders that I bought at an estate sale one time.

The pastel striped flatware added some more Summer color.  The beaded placemats were from a Kohl’s sale last year.  I think I paid about $4.00 for each of them.

Two floral napkins have a yellow napkin underneath, and…

two of them have a pink striped napkin underneath.  They are all held by faux flower napkin rings.

Plastic water glasses have different colors of flowers on the stems, and the pink plastic stems are for wine.

Summer tablescape 8

A jigger at each place setting holds a flower from our Althea bush.  Two of the jiggers have pink and yellow stripes, and…

two of them have my Daddy’s monogram.

Can you see the flowers etched into the salt and pepper shakers?

How cute is this! Love the "flower power" theme! (Hehe..being just old enough to remember that term when I was growing up!) You did such a cute job of bringing in flowers from many things like the salt and pepper shakers! The melamine dishes today are amazing aren't they! The Pier 1 flower bowls and plates are the perfect topping!

What a breath of fresh air...love all the flower power, Laurie. The tablecloth/napkins are gorgeous. Cute chargers...they make me want to draw a little face on the center! The flatware is so darned cute, it would go with so many colors.
Have a great week!

I love how you put this flower table together. You have so many fun things in your collection. Love the S&Ps, jealous of the Kohl's place mat find, and thankful for the paper plate holder idea as a charger. You are a bargain inspiration, for sure. :-)
Blessings,
Kim

I'm dating my self, but when I hear flower power, I think of Goldie Hawn on Laugh In. The flowered rims on your blue plates remind me of the dresses she used to wear! Your table definitely lives up to your title! Those green petal shaped chargers are perfect for those plates. fun table!

Flower power! Right on!!!

No, there's no such thing as too much sunshine. I think when we get accustomed to being under cloudy skies for so long, it just seems like the sun is overpowering everything. I think your pictures look fine. That 2nd one in particular is really pretty and shows all the color on the table in fine fashion!

I remember those petal bowls at Pier 1! I called myself waiting until they hit the clearance shelf. Ha! Joke was on me...every one of them around here got sold and I just missed out!

I love the design of your tablecloth! The meandering flowers are all so pretty!

I hope you have a great weekend, Laurie! Take care of yourself!

Flower Power …… made me think of the 60s and 70s and flower children and the hippy movement. Ha!
Fun table, Laurie. ;-)
