For a Valentine vignette, I gathered some symbols of love.
A vintage Valentine handkerchief,
A heart-shaped china box,
A vintage Valentine card,
A faux conversation heart and a few strings of pearls.
Does anybody else remember “The Love Bug”? These were necklaces with the VW Beatle on the front and the words “The Love Bug Loves”. On the back was the word “Me”. I know, you can’t believe I still have these?
A romantic plate and
A reproduction vintage Valentine fan.
The necklace from my sweetheart’s tour in Viet Nam. He took my half of the heart, and I kept his half. When he returned from Viet Nam, the two halves became a necklace for me.
A “Love” sign,
A ribbon-tied stack of love letters, and
A book of pictures of old Valentine cards.
I put them all into the jewelry box, which was mine when I was a teenager (and which, unfortunately, is now vintage) for a vignette on a table in the sunroom.
The Valentine party linkup is still available. A huge thanks to all who have already joined the par-tay. I am slowly, but surely, visiting the links. Click the box above if you would like to link up, or if you want find links to some fabulous Valentine inspiration. I’m so glad you visited my blog today. laurie

The jewelry box is so perfect for all of your pretty things. And how sweet of you to share the story of the heart halves and memories of Viet Nam. That is just the sweetest thing I've heard in a long time. Sweet hugs my friend!
So many treasures. Wonderful that you still have both parts of the heart.
No V.Day decor. here this year with other things going on.
Hope you enjoyed the weekend and staying warm.
I am so impressed with all you've saved, how much fun to be able to use your "vintage" jewelry box! So Adorable!

Love your vignette in your vintage box. So neat that you have that necklace and the history behind it.

Oh laurie, you kept the most wonderful treasures and I love your box. Hugs, Marty
What a cute idea using the jewelry box! I love that reproduction fan valentine and the story about the heart necklace. How sweet is that!
Aw what a sweet display! Love the heart necklace!
What a perfect way to display a valentine theme. I love this. I'm going to pin it for a good idea inspiration. I don't have an old jewelry box, but I love that part of it best of all.
I am so bummed that I was late to the par-tay, but I did stick my link up there three days late. It let me.
I'm trying to learn this balance thing, and I couldn't balance taking pictures and posting in to my luncheon preparation. (Especially when I felt the need to be refinishing a piece of furniture right in the middle of it all. I shouldn't have done it. I ruined the top and have to sand it back down again. Sigh...)
Thanks so much for stopping by and for your kind words!!
Love what you did with the jewelry box!! So pretty!!
Hugs,
Debbie
It's all so gorgeous ! Blessings Denise
