Not knowing where I went,
By chance, I saw a pleasant scene -
The cottage of content.
I love anything that depicts a cottage or a village. Since I can’t afford large French paintings, I recently purchased the two very miniature French paintings. They were the inspiration for a “cottage scape” on the sideboard behind my sofa. My friend, Susie, knowing that I love cottages, blue and white, and poetry, gifted me with the sweet little plate that I hung on the lampshade. It provided the poem for my post.
Thank you for stopping in at my cottage of content. laurie

I love that clever upside down platter with a vignette on top. I love your pretty dishes!
If ever there were a portrait of 'happily content' with what we have, it's a pastoral cottage scene. So nice, a wonderful friend who knows the gift you love...

What a gorgeous vignette Laurie! I am in love with cottage anything and this has it all!
You have the most charming and unique collections of very cool stuff!
You just seem to have a feel for finding the neatest things!
Hugs to you,
Cindy
Cute post. When I was a young girl, my aunt and uncle were building their cottage...a cabin really....but whenever I hear cottage my mind goes to the days at the lake...that was a good life!
Laurie, cute post! Your new little paintings are sweet and love the little dish that sweet Susie gifted to you. Cottage life is a life of contentment in my book.
Love your little paintings. You always have the best vignettes! Hugs, Linda
I love anything cottagey, and the litle French paintings definitely fit the bill. The whole vignette looks wonderful (as always). I love that verse and now want to google it to find out if it is part of a larger one.
Love the cottage of content! I too gravitate to cottage scenes...
Lovely -- very serene :)
I am not a cottage magnet but am drawn to all things old-farmhouse. I get that kind of attraction :)
Blessings!

What an eye bloggers have..I went back a few times to find the upside down platter! a keen eye Carlene has and you Laurie, are too creative..hugs...
I love cottages, especially by the water. Our first very humble bungalow, was an old fisherman's cottage by the Bay. We had the most fun there, everything was so simple. No luxury, the luxury was being able to go a few steps to the beach. A simpler way of life!
Me too Laurie!
Everything cottage speaks to me so...
Charming little paintings, love them!
Have a glorious weekend, dear friend...
xoxo,

I always love seeing all of your vignettes, and they are all so full of inspiration and unreal eye candy. Amazing. Hope all is well. Hugs, Marty
