OH MY GOSH! SHE’S CHANGED IT AGAIN!

Last week (yes, I just posted my mantel last week, and I’m doing it again!), Mary at Mary’s Meanderings left a comment saying she was sure that next week I would have St. Patrick’s Day décor on my mantel.  Mary, you know me better than I know myself!!  The French had taken up residence on my mantel last week, and this week the Irish have moved in!  I’m thinking of putting a Statute of Liberty on the mantel, because my mantel does welcome people of every nationality!  So, just in case you didn’t notice that bright green header on my blog, here’s a photo of my current mantel.

I bought this decanter at a yard sale years ago.  I think I paid $1.00 for it.stein mos

My friend, Charlie Ann, found this cute, tall leprechaun at a thrift store, and she knew it would make a perfect gift for me.

Top row: all vintage.  Vintage candy jar} in a box of items I purchased at an auction; my Mother’s toothpick holder; vintage whiskey decanter} same box of auction items; Camark Pottery child’s cup and saucer}from my childhood (unfortunately vintage), vintage perfume atomizer purchased at a flea market.  This month, if it’s green, it’s Irish!

Okay, you caught me.  This was a French shepherdess last week, but I tied that shamrock bow to the top of her cloche and she magically became an Irish shepherdess!  (In a couple of weeks, she’ll probably renounce her Irish citizenship and re-apply for French citizenship!)

Once again, I’m linking to WOW Us Wednesday at Savvy  Southern Style for all the wrong reasons.  I don’t think my mantel will “wow” anybody, but it might “wow” you when you learn that yet another nationality is residing on my mantel this week!
I’m also linking to Feathered Nest Friday at French Country Cottage, Home Sweet Home Friday at The Charm of Home, Junkin Finds Friday at A La Carte and Vintage Inspiration Friday at Common Ground, and to Seasonal Sundays at The Tablescaper.  Thanks to all of our hostesses!
***Don’t forget the “real life” party at my house and at That Bookstore in Blytheville with Michael Lee West on April 12th.  Click here to read all about it.***
And don’t forget the Spring Cloche Party at A Stroll Thru Life on March 11th and the Irish Blog Crawl at Cuisine Kathleen’s on March 15th!
I’m so glad you came to see my mantel AGAIN!  I hope you’ll come back Friday evening to link up for Favorite Things Saturday. laurie

  1. Laurie didn't I just say something about knowing your mantel would change next week!! Looks great. I feel bad that I don't really have any St Patty's decorations especially since I am 1/2 Irish. My dad was a full blooded Irish man and so very proud of the fact!

  2. Laurie, I just figured it out. You missed your calling! You should have become a freelance window decorator at antique and vintage stores!! Your displays would surely entice buyers into the stores to purchase large amounts of wonderful items!! Don't you think there would be a career in that???? Well, maybe not, but wouldn't it be fun? And the best part, you could spend time with all kinds of wonderful treasures that you didn't have to BUY!!

  9. My St Patty's decorations are sad, sad, sad. I am trying to put something together...but it is a struggle. You could have multi country flags flying over your roof with all the coming and going happening by you!!!

  15. I just like you so much! You made me laugh out loud literally so many times while reading this. When you got to the end and said you were joining WOW Wednesdays "for all the wrong reasons", that did me in.

Such a great mantel, giggles and all, though. I love your winking Leprechaun the best.

    Sure wish I lived closer.

  18. Dear Laurie,
It's a good thing that every week is not a special celebration as I think you would be totaly worn out redecorating! I'm still trying to get Christmas put away along with Valentine's Day, which will be out a long time..
    Love your new mantle look.

  19. Oh how cute! Spring fever is definitely flying all over the blog universe and St Patricks Day fun is strong and I'm loving it. :) Such cute green plates shamrock ribbon, and figurines! I have a fun St Patricks Day round up of party blog posts, decoration ideas, cute clipart and more and I'm definitely adding this to the list. :) Have a green and spring-like day :)

  22. Well, you wowed me! Not much of anything Irish around here. I'm having to get creative in order to participate in Kathleen's Party. I know you'll have even more fun to share. You probably have a wonderful tablescape all planned out.
I so wish I could join the dinner party in April. ~ sarah

  24. I love the fact that you have such an international mantel. The little shepherdess can be Mexican in May, Geman in October, a pilgrim in November and dare we say Mrs. Clause in December. I think she has a permanent home. LOL
You mantel is awesome as usual. Thanks for your efforts, talent and expecially for sharing. Ginger
