OH MY GOSH! SHE’S CHANGED IT AGAIN!

Last week (yes, I just posted my mantel last week, and I’m doing it again!), Mary at Mary’s Meanderings left a comment saying she was sure that next week I would have St. Patrick’s Day décor on my mantel.  Mary, you know me better than I know myself!!  The French had taken up residence on my mantel last week, and this week the Irish have moved in!  I’m thinking of putting a Statute of Liberty on the mantel, because my mantel does welcome people of every nationality!  So, just in case you didn’t notice that bright green header on my blog, here’s a photo of my current mantel.

My friend, Charlie Ann, found this cute, tall leprechaun at a thrift store, and she knew it would make a perfect gift for me.

Okay, you caught me.  This was a French shepherdess last week, but I tied that shamrock bow to the top of her cloche and she magically became an Irish shepherdess!  (In a couple of weeks, she’ll probably renounce her Irish citizenship and re-apply for French citizenship!)

    Laurie didn't I just say something about knowing your mantel would change next week!! Looks great. I feel bad that I don't really have any St Patty's decorations especially since I am 1/2 Irish. My dad was a full blooded Irish man and so very proud of the fact!

    Laurie, I just figured it out. You missed your calling! You should have become a freelance window decorator at antique and vintage stores!! Your displays would surely entice buyers into the stores to purchase large amounts of wonderful items!! Don't you think there would be a career in that???? Well, maybe not, but wouldn't it be fun? And the best part, you could spend time with all kinds of wonderful treasures that you didn't have to BUY!!

    My St Patty's decorations are sad, sad, sad. I am trying to put something together...but it is a struggle. You could have multi country flags flying over your roof with all the coming and going happening by you!!!

    I love the fact that you have such an international mantel. The little shepherdess can be Mexican in May, Geman in October, a pilgrim in November and dare we say Mrs. Clause in December. I think she has a permanent home. LOL
