Laurie @ Bargain Hunting With Laurie not only has the best blog visitors, they are also the smartest blog visitors! Linda (Mom of a German Shorthair), who is a wonderful visitor to many blogs in Blogland, is also a very smart cyber detective. She found numerous Lazy Susan's very similar to the one Laurie coveted in Stephanie's home. At least one of the sites Linda found was offering a sale price on the Lazy Susan, and of course, Laurie loves a sale! Just as Laurie was close to ordering one of those (we suspect it would have been the one on sale), another of her blog readers, Tammy518, became a cyber detective and found THE Lazy Susan at Orvis.com! Our records show that this is only about the tenth time in almost 40 years that Laurie has bought anything (other than groceries) that wasn't on sale. She did contact Orvis to see if there was any kind of discount that could be offered to her brilliant blog readers, but Orvis declined to offer a discount, in spite of the fact that Laurie greatly exaggerated the number of readers of her blog!! Laurie will immediately be ordering the Lazy Susan @ http://www.orvis.com/store/productchoice.aspx?pf_id=35GT&dir_id=1034&group_id=1039&cat_id=5158
Laurie wishes to send a huge thanks to Linda and to Tammy for all of their brilliant detective work in this very worthwhile cause!

ReplyDeleteYou need to ask Susie how many times I've found things for her on eBay. I remember when her favorite camera died, and I found the same camera at good price on eBay, did the bidding and had it shipped to her. I just love detective work.

ReplyDeleteHoly cow, ladies! I just got a Tuesday Morning flyer in the mail and they've got - you guessed it - a wine barrel top Lazy Susan in the ad! It's only $60, but I don't like it quite as well as the Orvis one, which is exactly like Laurie's friend's. Just thought I'd put this out here in case anyone wants one for a cheaper price.

Laurie, thanks so much for stopping by and commenting on my Starfruit. Yes they do sell them at the grocery stores. Usually at more of a specialty store that carries all the yuppy stuff, you know the kind I mean. They are sort of expensive in most stores, but you really do have to try one. The plate you saw was only 1 1/2 fruit, so they go a long way. Give it a try, you will really like it. Hugs, Marty

When I'm contemplating a purchase, because I think the price is too high, DH always tells me that I have two choices. Either pay what they are asking or leave it alone.
ReplyDeleteThe effect of his statement is to make me decide how badly I desire the thing in question. Sometimes you just have to pay full price. I look for bargains everywhere and on everything I can, so when something comes along that I just can't live without, I don't feel bad about the purchase. You shouldn't feel bad about the lazy susan. You have saved so much on your overall thriftiness, you deserve it.
