St. Patrick's Decor

Our mantel is celebrating the next holiday.  I’m not Irish, but I do love a celebration, so St. Patrick’s Day is next up on my celebration calendar.

Last week (yes, I just posted my mantel last week, and I’m doing it again!), Mary at Mary’s Meanderings left a comment saying she was sure that next week I would have St. Patrick’s Day décor on my mantel.  Mary, you know me better than I know myself!!  The French had taken up residence on my mantel last week, and this week the Irish have moved in!  I’m thinking of putting a Statute of Liberty on the mantel, because my mantel does welcome people of every nationality!  So, just in case you didn’t notice that bright green header on my blog, here’s a photo of my current mantel.

I bought this decanter at a yard sale years ago.  I think I paid $1.00 for it.stein mos
A vintage bridge tally from my mother’s collection.
My friend, Charlie Ann, found this cute, tall leprechaun at a thrift store, and she knew it would make a perfect gift for me.

Okay, you caught me.  This was a French shepherdess last week, but I tied that shamrock bow to the top of her cloche and she magically became an Irish shepherdess!  (In a couple of weeks, she’ll probably renounce her Irish citizenship and re-apply for French citizenship!)
Once again, I’m linking to WOW Us Wednesday at Savvy  Southern Style for all the wrong reasons.  I don’t think my mantel will “wow” anybody, but it might “wow” you when you learn that yet another nationality is residing on my mantel this week!
I’m also linking to Feathered Nest Friday at French Country Cottage, Home Sweet Home Friday at The Charm of Home, Junkin Finds Friday at A La Carte and Vintage Inspiration Friday at Common Ground, and to Seasonal Sundays at The Tablescaper.  Thanks to all of our hostesses!
***Don’t forget the “real life” party at my house and at That Bookstore in Blytheville with Michael Lee West on April 12th.  Click here to read all about it.***
And don’t forget the Spring Cloche Party at A Stroll Thru Life on March 11th and the Irish Blog Crawl at Cuisine Kathleen’s on March 15th!
I’m so glad you came to see my mantel AGAIN!  I hope you’ll come back Friday evening to link up for Favorite Things Saturday. laurie
