These pocket doors make me swoon.
I want this wonderful PB knock-off mirror, created by Amanda at A Creative Beginning. She also made that moss-covered letter “T”, and isn’t that a pretty mercury glass apothecary on her mantel?
The first time I ever saw a Charles Faudree room (which was years ago, in one of the first issues of Traditional Home magazine), I fell in love. Every time I see another one of his rooms, I fall in love all over again. Lately, I’ve been so attracted to the color red, and I love it in this room. I love that fireplace, the shape of those chairs on either side of the fireplace, and I love all of the fabrics used in this room. I think one reason I like his style so much is that it looks as if it evolved. His décor gives me permission to use what I already have, instead of going out and buying all new furniture. He also gives me permission to have a little clutter in my home (probably a little more than he would advise, but I’m blocking that thought).
Okay, I guess I’m on a mirror kick, but I’ve loved Trumeau mirrors since the first time I saw one (probably in one of Charles Faudree’s rooms). Isn’t this one a beauty? I love the slats on the wall. The gingham shade on the tiny lamp, and the Frenchy chairs make me happy too.
Before she moved to Rattlebridge Farm, Michael Lee decorated this charming bedroom in her home, and it was love at first sight for me. I guess I’ve been obsessing over red for longer than I realized.
Another bedroom that charms the socks off of me (well, it would if I had on socks). I’m such a sucker for checks, and I love them combined with this flowery wallpaper and curtains. And I LOVE those metal arched double doors. The rustic ceiling beams keep the room from being too stiff and formal.
Courtney’s bedroom is another one that I loved the first time I saw it. At that time, she was talking about reupholstering that wonderful settee at the foot of the bed. I almost cried, because I love what the addition of the red plaid does for this room. Did you see the headboard behind her headboard. Who would have thought to do that? And I love that white wood vaulted ceiling and those curtains. She recently posted about her “Dream” letters on the shelf over the bed. I can’t believe she cut those out of wood. I think she should add a “Y”, because her bedroom is definitely dreamy.
And how about sleeping outside, with no threat of mosquitoes. Did you notice the ceiling? I’d truly feel as if I were in a tree house, and it looks like there is a view of a lake beyond those trees. What a view to greet you in the morning!
NEIMAN MARCUS AD (link no longer available)
This was a long-ago Neiman Marcus ad, so I can’t give you a link to it. I love the deep gathered skirt on these bedspreads, and the natural-looking fabric combined with those elegant white, monogramed pillows. The brown toile covered, Frenchy headboards are wonderful too. Of course, this is just staging for an ad, but I’d never think to place the beds in front of the windows. I like it though.
Wishing you a great weekend. Thank you for visiting. laurie
