I did not start out to make this the kitchen edition of Friday Faves, but when I began gathering my pictures for this post, they were all kitchen inspiration. I guess I just have kitchens on the brain right now. Maybe that’s because I haven’t cooked anything all week, and I’m having a guilt trip about going a week without using my kitchen for anything other than making sandwiches. Oh wait! I did use my Panini grill. Does that count as cooking?
This first image has been one of my faves for awhile now. I am so in love with that antique French piece repurposed as an island. And just look at all of the natural light from that huge window and skylight. Did you notice the faucet that looks like an old pump? I haven’t even mentioned that gorgeous chandelier. I think I would have cooked this week if my kitchen looked like this! Nah, I would probably have just sat in a chair looking out that huge window!
This framed chalkboard is so great, but when she added Cleetus, the pig, she turned it into such a fun and whimsical statement in her kitchen. Her numbered drawers on that skinny dresser are so clever. (I can think of all kinds of places where I could use a skinny set of drawers like that.) I even like the miniature chalkboard on the lamp.
Have you seen the makeover in this kitchen? Absolutely incredible. I love the new cabinet fronts, and aren’t those drawer pulls wonderful? This kitchen is so much happier and brighter than it used to be.
The glass-fronted cabinets in this kitchen were my first attraction, but then I noticed the bead board ceiling, which I love. I’m not sure if this cabinet color has a yellow tint to it or not, but I really like the color, and I like the contrast of the black countertop. As pretty as those framed botanicals look over the range, I don’t think they would look very pretty after I cooked a few meals on that stove top, so I’m thinking that if I plan to cook in my kitchen again, I probably shouldn’t put prints over my range. (Maybe I will hang some prints over the range and keep making sandwiches!)
A collection of blue and white china always takes my breath, and this collection is gorgeous. I also like this piece of furniture. I love all of the display space for the china, and I love the open shelf on the bottom for big pieces.
Another buttery yellow kitchen. This range and the way it is built in makes my heart flutter. And look at that built-in plate rack in the corner. Of course, you noticed that there is blue and white in this kitchen too. You think I have a one-track mind-or would it be a three track (blue, white, and yellow) mind?
Talk about letting the sun shine in – just look at those wonderful windows! I have really become enamored with metal windows, so this image blew me away. The “branch” style chandelier is a good choice for a room that makes the cook feel like she’s cooking in the trees.
Uh Oh, more blue and white. That tile scene behind the stove is beautiful! Isn’t that an interesting placement of the range? I think that probably makes the perfect work triangle. That looks like a gorgeous French pastry table being used as a kitchen island. Copper pots are another a favorite of mine.
How I wish I had the nerve that some people have with paint. These black kitchen cabinets are stunning. I first saw this kitchen on Hometalk, and the “before” pictures make the after look even more amazing. I don’t think she changed the layout of the kitchen, but she sure made it look more elegant. Isn’t that wood countertop gorgeous, and I love that faucet in the prep sink.
