FRIDAY FAVES-OCTOBER 4, 2013

Welcome to another edition of my Friday Faves.  I’m so glad to have you here.

I love this screen door and the garden beyond.  That door begs to be opened, and that path begs to be walked.  So inviting.

I really want to paint a piece of furniture black.  Isn’t this a beauty?  And you know me -- I love the symmetrical balance on top.

Another piece of black furniture.  I love the way this one is distressed, and I also love that it has storage.  I’m always looking for more storage.  Of course, there is another of my beloved symmetrical arrangements on top.  Isn’t that transferware pot gorgeous?  I’m also loving those lamp shades.  I’m thinking the subtle stripes on the wall may be painted, but they could be wallpaper.  Either way, it looks lovely.

I am drawn to the architecture in this room.  That huge old fireplace, the window alcoves, and the unique wood plank ceiling and beams all appeal to me.  The fabric is a little bit of a surprise, and I love the way it brightens the room.  Isn’t that an interesting piece used as a coffee table?  I wonder if it is a buffet that has been shortened.  The big area rug is faded to perfection, and I also like the two pieces of furniture on each side of the fireplace.

It may be a little early to start thinking about Christmas, but I’d love this image even if there weren’t any Christmas decorations.  What a great table, and that rounded painting is gorgeous.  Look at the big silver, footed tray-stunning!  And, although I’m not posting about Christmas (really, I’m not), I do love the idea of a Christmas swag framing a picture.

Anne is absolutely amazing!  If she wants something done, she figures out a way to do it herself!  She not only cut out the wall and installed this window, she made those adorable shutters on each side.  There are two hinged panels on each side, and I love the way they add so much personality to this window and this space.

This dresser, turned vanity, is so pretty.  Look at those sexy little legs and all of those curves across the bottom.  The painted drawers are perfect for the lines of this piece.  And what about that gorgeous mirror and those sconces.  And… there is the edge of a claw foot tub showing.  Sigh.

I love a bay window, especially if the windows are this pretty.  This little seating area looks so cozy.  I might want to replace the wicker trunk with a smaller table.  Did you see that gorgeous, formal molding above the bay alcove?  The wicker trunk may be an attempt to tone down the formality, but I think the rug is successful in doing that, and, in my humble opinion, the trunk might be a little large for the space and might take the informality a little too far.

It is so much fun for me to be able to share some of my favorite images with you.  Thanks for coming to see them.  Wishing you a wonderful weekend.  laurie
