A LITTLE SANTA COLLECTION

Christmas Decor-Bargain Decorating with Laurie
Before I was married, I had a little Santa collection.  I’m talking about three or four Santas.

I’ve been married 45 years, and it is so easy to buy me a gift.  Everyone just gifts me with another Santa, and my collection grows, and grows, and …

there seems to be no end in sight.

See that kind of scary looking Santa mask in the back of this shelf?  That was my mystery gift.  The mailman delivered it this past Summer (2014).  The package had my sister’s return address on it.  There were three of these vintage masks inside, but no note or card.  I called my sister to ask where in the world she found these masks, and she didn’t know what I was talking about.  It wasn’t until I had checked the return address that I noticed the package had been mailed in January of 2012!  After I sent my sister a picture of the masks, she replied that she was positive she would have remembered sending me something that scary.  I felt like I was in the Twilight Zone.  Is my age showing, or are there others who remember that show?

I shouldn’t admit this, but these are just a part of the collection!  I’m sure you’ll be seeing more Santas on this blog before Christmas arrives.

It took all day Friday to get all of the Thanksgiving dishes and linens cleaned and Fall décor put away.  I spent the day Saturday getting Santas out.

Occasionally, if I find a unique or vintage Santa at a really good price, I purchase it for myself, but most of these have been gifts.  I did purchase the Santa tassel from an Etsy a few years ago.

My Christmas excess has begun.  There will be a lot more Christmas to share with you in the next few weeks.  I hope you’ll stop back by to see just how excessive I get at Christmastime.  Thank you for visiting.

I’m partying with Creative Country Mom’s Christmas in the Country, Met Monday at Between Naps on the Porch, Inspire Me Tuesday at A Stroll Thru Life, Tweak it Tuesday at Cozy Little House, and You’re Gonna Love It Tuesday at Kathe with an E.

  2. Laurie, I love our passion for decorating with your collections. It's a lot of work, but yet you still bring things out for the season. I find myself leaving some things in boxes or better yet, giving them to my nieces. I admire your enthusiasm. '-)
That said, I'm off to do a bit more decorating here. Ha!
Enjoy your home dressed for the holidays!

  5. Wow, you have such a great collection of Santas, Laurie! Very impressive all the different kinds. I have some as well, and some snowmen, but nothing like yours. : ) I have decided to go simple this year so most of mine have remained in their bins. In fact, I have to go through everything and get rid of some stuff. Anything I haven't used in the past two Christmases I think will go.

  9. I love your collection, Laurie! I have a wonderful one that I display, but unfortunately it isn't really mine. My father used to buy each grandchild a Santa for Christmas, and I have the combined set of my daughters. Sooner or later, I know they are going to be taking them to their own places.

  13. Wonderful Santa collection Laurie. I do like that Santa in his sleigh too, He is particularly nice, I love his reindeer too. I am rebuilding my Santa collection slowly but surely. I found a Fitz and Floyd musical Santa in a sleigh at the Goodwill not long ago.
