My sweetheart accuses me of wanting a vacation home just so I’ll have another place to play with furniture and vignette arrangements.  Please don’t tell him, but he’s probably close to the truth.  All pictures in this post are from Midwest Living.  You can click on any picture to go to their site.

Midwest Living’s site featured this wonderful home in Wisconsin, and I love it!  All of those steps down to the water might be too much for me, but if I got down there, I’d probably stay all day.

What a charming entryway.  Love the wicker tea cart and the turquois framed mirror.

When I made it back up the steps, I could rest on this great porch.

After a good rest on the porch, I might even make it into this great kitchen to whip up some dinner.  The open shelving displays such “happy” dishware, and there is a great stove.  What about that lime green mixer?  Isn’t that fun?

Enough room for everybody to dine in comfort.

After dinner, I’d ask my sweetheart to light a fire in that massive stone fireplace, and my most difficult decision would be whether to relax and read on one of those slipcovered sofas or one of those slipcovered chairs.

After getting all of the grandchildren to bed in this amazing bunk room…

We could head to the master bedroom for the night.  (This picture was taken the next morning, while we were having coffee on our private deck, overlooking the water.)

Did you enjoy my little vacation as much as I did?  I hope you have a great weekend, whether you spend it at home or somewhere else.  laurie

I can not tell you how much I needed just to sit a spell today and SMILE. That's exactly what this post did for me. I loved how you dragged me in to your game of let's pretend. (It wasn't very hard to drag me. I'm a let's pretender if there ever were one.

I agree that it's such a beautiful place.

Hi Laurie - what a beautiful post! We live by a lake and I've been working on a few budget-conscious updates to our little cottage, so this post was so inspiring to me. Thanks for sharing! I'm just out and about from the Thursday Favorite Things Blog Hop at Katherine's Corner so I wanted to pop in to say "HI" - have a great weekend and hope we can connect again next week at the Thursday Blog Hop! I could spend time here. You'd find me on that deck looking out to the water. ;-)
