FRIDAY FAVES-SLEEPING BEAUTIES EDITION

HOUSE BEAUTIFUL

I’ve always wanted to “do” a room in all one fabric.  I love this look, but when you are only willing to buy resale or on sale, you don’t usually find enough of one fabric to create this look.  This looks like it could be used for a sitting room when not in use as a bedroom.  I like that the beautiful  wood on the desk breaks up the pattern a little.

VERANDA

Obviously, I like a lot of totally different looks.  The contrast of pretty and feminine with the rustic stone walls and the unfinished beams appeal to me.  I love the color of that gorgeous secretary and armoire.

HOUSE BEAUTIFUL

I think it may be because I really like symmetry, but I’m always attracted to rooms with identically dressed twin beds.   Aren’t those cute little partial canopies, and I’m loving the stripes on those and on the bed skirts.

TRADITIONAL HOME

I am also drawn to the charm of slanted, upstairs ceilings in a bedroom.  It makes the room feel like a hideaway.  I would never have thought of using this mint green color, but I think it looks great.  Botanical prints and botanical plates tie into the botanicals on the pretty rug.

HOUSE BEAUTIFUL

Okay, twin beds, dressed simply, but identically; a sloped ceiling; painted wood floors; and a cute little chair with matching fabric.  Such a welcoming room.

TRADITIONAL HOME

I am so full of contradictions.  In the middle of all of these soft, pastel colors, I post this bedroom of reds and yellows.  Love the ledge at chair rail height along the wall (a place to hold some treasures).  Isn’t the corner, adobe fireplace cute, and the hearth is high enough that the fire can be seen while in bed.  Cozy, cozy.

HGTV (Victoria Pearson)

And, I’m back to the soft look.  These colors are so soothing.  That white wood ceiling looks so clean and bright against that blue-ish gray wall color.  This room makes me think I could walk out a door and be on the beach.

TRADITIONAL HOME

What I like in this room:  the elegance of that high mattress on the bed and the puddled curtains and bed skirt, along with that great fainting couch at the foot of the bed.  The yellow rug is pretty, but it seems a little jarring in this otherwise soft room.

I’m so glad you stopped by.  Wishing you a great weekend and sweet dreams.  laurie

Laurie, I adore stone walls for any room. It's the organic feel and texture. Brick walls make my heart sing too! Like you, I'm fond of identically dressed twin beds. Perhaps it is because my sister and I shared a bedroom growing up. No twin beds in our home, but if we did they would be identical. '-)
Beautiful rooms, each one! Happy Friday!

Wow Laurie you found some beautiful rooms! I like something from each one but the HGTV one was my favorite. I want to redo our bedroom- perhaps some blue will do!
