My Friday Faves this week are from an architect’s site. Eric J. Smith obviously designs high-end structures, but they all have a classic element that makes them feel like renovated vintage homes.
I love the gazebo feel of this porch, and the ceiling is beautiful. Isn’t that arched opening into the kitchen beautiful, and I love that the windows apparently slide into the walls.
This is the kitchen that opens onto that porch. All of the curves contrast with that boxed ceiling, and oh, how I love that bay where the breakfast room is located.
Love those curvy sinks with the exposed plumbing and the metal legs. The curved mirrors mimic the curved doorway, and looking through the doorway, I see another curved doorway, and another curved mirror at a vanity.
He likes curves as much as I do. Look at how deeply recessed those windows are-beautiful.
A window seat with a beautiful view – I’d love to wake up here. I also like the slanted wall and the cozy upstairs feeling of this room.
Does this look like new construction? Those French doors on each side of the middle door look like they are bays, and those little dormers on the roof are so quaint.
Another window seat in the bedroom, and isn’t that curved door wonderful? So much charm in here.
The first thing that drew me to this room were those wonderful windows in the generously sized breakfast room. Then I noticed all of the arches that mimic the tops of those windows. See the arch from the kitchen into the breakfast room--and the arches in the glass-front cabinets? I wish the window over the sink had a similar arch, but I assume he was trying to supply a break from all of the arches.
I love that all of these homes look as if they are wonderful old homes that have been lovingly renovated. I hope you enjoyed seeing some more of my faves. Have a great weekend. laurie
I’m partying at Katherine’s Corner for Thursday Favorite Things.
