Charles Faudree, my favorite interior designer.

Connection to the Outdoors

Okay, I’ll admit that the view had a lot to do with my selection of this picture, since very little of the room is even showing.  I love this path between what appears to be a dining area and a family area, which leads to those wonderful windows with the wonderful view.

Casual dining (almost in the garden).  Great rug, windows, table, ceiling beams, dog, and view.

traditional bathroom by Brian Patterson Designs, Inc.

You know I always have to have a bathroom or two in my faves.  Isn’t this one charming?

And how about a fun bathroom?  Love the bead board paneling, the tub, and the sink.  Isn’t the shape of the room wonderful, and how about the beach chair and splashes of red?  Whimsical look for a place at the beach.

I usually have to include an outdoor fave too.  Isn’t this a sweet little outbuilding?  Loving the Dutch door and that cute curved window over it.  The Christmas decorations are just icing on a charming cake.

Another outdoor fave.

In memory of my favorite designer, Charles Faudree.  I love his style and I love his design philosophy.

I’m so sad to think that there will never be another book by Charles Faudree.  I’ve been in love with his talents since the first time I read about him in a very early issue of Traditional Home.  I never met him, but after enjoying photos of his designs and reading interviews with him numerous times, I felt like I knew him.  I will very much miss this designer.  His classic French designs will live on forever.

I hope you found some faves in my faves today.  laurie

Laurie - I was very lucky in that Charles Faudree lived here in Tulsa and had his shop here. I had meet him in his shop and he was truly a very talented gentleman. He will be surely missed.

Really lovely stuff Laurie!
I would take any of them but I think the big bathrooms would be my first pics.
Ours are the size of postage stamps.
Thanks for sharing,

The first photo is definitely a fave for me! Love the French chairs, needlepoint pillows of dogs, the collected objects atop the stacks of books on the round table, and the way he stacked the tables with a smaller one in front. All seems so simple, but it's great design. I'll miss Charles Faudree too. In fact, I reached for his last book this evening when I went looking for some inspiration for a rearrangement project in one of our guest rooms. He was one of the greats! Thanks for another great Friday Faves. I look forward to it with joyful anticipation.

I love the first and last pictures. I didn't know he had passed- that's too bad. He certainly left a wonderful legacy.

Hi Laurie,
I am a fan of Charles Faudree too and have his books that I refer to often. He will truly be missed. His designs are timeless.

Your Friday Favs are wonderful and I love something about each photo.
Love the sweet cottage outbuilding. I had one when we lived in another house. I would love to add that here but don't have the room.

Thank you for sharing. Have a great weekend.

Laurie, I always enjoy what you have picked out to show us each week. I'm a big fan of Charles Faudree too, but I didn't know that he had passed. That beach chair in the bathroom looks cute, but I'm afraid I'd never get up and out of it!

I wish that I were brave enough to paint even one piece of furniture bright turquoise, not to mention a raft of chairs. I loved this post and I'm sad about CF. Thanks for visiting me as well!

Just this morning, I was looking at my home page on Pinterest and noticing how easy it is to tell the pinner from the pins (even at a glance). Yours was one of the ones that I was thinking about specifically. I can almost always tell when a pin like the ones on here comes from you. For one thing, I ALWAYS love it. For another, it's a specific style. I didn't realize that probably many of them come from the same designer.

I'm slow on the uptake like that.
